today was a nice warm day

the bottles of water are dancing because they were frozen for awhile.
I pass by this building every day as i'm walking to and from elementary school. Each time i see if, my eyes are fixed on it. Maybe because of the odd - looking dog.

Catch up on work day

I was stuck most of the afternoon and evening doing midterm projects, etc...I was really looking forward to doing something in the nice weather.

garden of snow

I was peeking through the garden again while i was walking back from the elementary school. It looked sor of enchanting.

cafe lalo

it was my dorm friend's birthday so i bought dessert that afternoon :) at Cafe Lalo. Christmas lights 365 days a year.

chicken wings

There's this new chicken bar/whatever you wanna call it. Their chicken wings are really tasty. I want to go there again except the place looks like a club scene with people holding chicken wings in their hands.

Friday night at the Guggenheim

Our class met here tonight and it was bad because we were stuck at the basement listening to a lecture about how the Guggenheim was constructed. I think it was interesting to learn about frank loyd wright but not at 6pm at the basement of a museum when we could be looking at the art work.

resume day

I was working on my resume most of the day to e-mail out to various places. We had a job fair this week...Activities and interests...What to write :I

Irving coffee and tea bar

my favorite place to get work done and EAT :) i love their lox on bagel. Today was seriously so warm, i didn't even need a coat. What a relief for my public school break...

monday night breaks

central park and some jazz

we trekked through central park and spotted WHITE snow which was so amazing to see after seeing yellow, brown, and black snow in the city. The night ended with some jazz at a club down my street.

Eventful Saturday

We got to see RENT and sing along with familar songs. We had a great time watching it. Then we went off to cafe Lalo and had our share of dessert with cappucinnos. Mel's busy stirring her cappucinno.

Visitors from LA

I again played with watercolors during my lunch break while the teacher was gone for lunch duty.

After school, i had visitors from LA and we started the first part of our weekend with a jump start of candy from Dylan's candy bar.

No Motivation

Not a good day to take photos...no motivation to capture any part of my day except for this mini break in my computer class to hear my voice messages.

Before I walked into school, it was raining ice. This is what i saw at 2pm as i walked out of school. I was so amazed. BUT IT was oh so hard to walk those avenues to get to the subway station. I truly felt like i was in the mountains walking to the snowlift in my boots. ok that was a little extreme for me to say...

Lunch in Chinatown

This is my friend's hand holding onto a menu at a restaurant in chinatown. I ordered a chicken/mushroom on rice casserole, which was in a hot clay pot only for 4.95. Isn't that great?

Drawing and Ramen

Today was my first day of drawing workshop. once again, i am drawing nude models.
This class is long but it goes by fast because I have fun drawing. :) Here the chairs are called horses and we lean our boards against these so that we draw with an angle...
Tonight, I went with my dorm friend to this japanese ramen restaurant. The theme of this weekend is noodles...

Yum Friday

ya know what? this was the highlight of my day. Having something to eat besides a sandwich, string cheese, and crackers everyday of the week. I've been craving spaghetti since last month. Weekends are when i get to TAsTE food. Thanks God for getting me through my first week of teaching.

Thursdays Tire Us Out

this is our 15 min break in between our thursday classes. SEriously we are so tired that we just lie on the sofas like this girl. We literally had a 15 min break from 8am - 9:15pm.

clay pinch pots

today was the MEssiest art activity we have done. The kids are always excited about clay but end up creating a mess. I felt like cinderella at some point lugging buckets of muddy water and rags to clean the floor and tables. However, I was really impressed by the pinch pots they created. Can't wait to see it baked in the kiln.

This is the L train that I always take to union square to get home. So far i love it because it's not crowded. TODAY WAS FREEZING

watercolor fun

This is during my lunch break at school. I started playing with the watercolor sets while cleaning when my cooperating teacher was out doing recess duty. hahah

On my way to church

This is on my way to a new church. Today was especially windy and cold. So i'm wearing my chunky scarf and earmuffs along with my ipod earset. I have so much more to put on when it gets cold like this.

jiho's visit

Saturday, Ji-ho and I went around the city but since it was too cold, we got tea lattes and just chatted for awhile before watching Les Miserables. I had to set the timer and run to this spot because my brother kept complaining that i take too many photos.

a night of rain and jazz

it was a rainy night and I thought this perspective from my umbrella looked kind of cool. This was on my way to the W where my brother was staying that night. we also went to this jazz club called "Blue Note" with my friend jennifer and her friends. It was an amazing performance. It was my first time listening to jazz live.

First Day at East Village Elementary

this is 8am on my first day of student teaching. I taught the 5th graders how to draw a horse...not what i expected to do on the first day. but oh well :) the kids are fun to be with. Some of them surprisingly call each other horrible names but they get over it so easily.
